Nokomis and Kate: The Playfight

m4k3- It was lunch time and the sun was hiding away behind walls of thick cloud. How depressing, Nokomis thought as she wandered through the corridors. The hall would be empty now; everyone would be outside with their food, contemplated the tree giant. She made her way there.

animecrafter101- Kate walked in shadows, she wasn't all that hungry, but she could eat, she had nothing to eat tho. Since she was a vampire she could only drink blood and maybe some other things, but blood was a huge part of her diet. She stalked around looking for a human to bite.

m4k3- Nokomis opened the door; a loud creak reverberating through the hall and bouncing back at her. The lunch ladies had packed up? Damn, Nokomis thought; she was too late. Still, there were always the vending machines. She dug into her pocket, slipping out a couple of coins. She walked over to the furthest end of the hall, where several vending machines resided; humming quietly to themselves and casting colourful glows. Nokomis pondered what she fancied...

animecrafter101- Kate walked up and down looking for a human, she sighed and walked out of the school and into the nearest village

m4k3- A slice of a shadow moved over the glow on the floor. Nokomis' eyes snapped up. Someone moved pass the window. Curious, she went over and opened it, peering out. It was her! The 'new girl' from the other day... not a good day at all. "Hey!" she called, observing her moving in the direction towards the village.

animecrafter101- Kate ignored her and walked to the village, she looked for a human to sink her fangs into. she looked around,

m4k3- Nokomis clambered out the window and jogged down towards her. "Okay, the silent treatment. I get it," she said casually, walking almost beside her... a little bit behind because the stranger creeped her out a bit.

animecrafter101- Kate spotted a human in the shadows she slowly walked over to them, She covered the persons mouth and bit into there neck

m4k3- Nokomis grimaced. Ah, a vampire, she thought, watching her silently slaughter the human. She didn't feel much sympathy for the mortal; she hated them personally, but what a way to go. "Gruesome," she remarked, observing the blood run down the human's neck. Not much of it escaped though. "So... what's your name?"

animecrafter101- Kate threw the limp body off to the side and wiped the blood off of her mouth " kate " she said

m4k3- Nokomis gave a single nod of acknowledgement. A pause. "I'm Nokomis," she said flatly, noting how she didn't ask for her name. Who would've thought, the negatively aligned lacked manners. "But, call me Missy," she added, nodding a little more. She averted her gaze from the fresh corpse and looked at Kate, giving a small smile. "So, how're you finding the academy?"

animecrafter101- Kate was silent for a few seconds " boring " she replied emotionlessly

m4k3- Nokomis chortled, "I could tell the other day when you fell asleep in class!"

animecrafter101- Kate shrugged and started to walk back to the academy

m4k3- Nokomis huffed, trailing behind her again. Clearly, she didn't socialize much, because if she did, she'd be with her (currently non-existent) friends, instead of trying so hard with a vampire. "So... Kate, what'd you do for fun? Aside from draining the blood from your victims," she tried to sound jokey, but a nervous twitch caught her smile. The stranger seemed a bit on-edge sometimes.

animecrafter101- " sleeping " she said in a monotone voice

m4k3- "Really?" came Nokomis' reply. "That sounds boring. I mean sure, sleeping's great but for fun?" She spun on her heels, running backwards so she was in front of Kate. "Come on! What's your hobby?" she grinned, pumping her fists playfully. "You sound like you need firing up!"

animecrafter101- " drawing and poetry " she replied again

m4k3- Nokomis dropped her hands, almost halting completely and watching Kate continue on in awe. "Really?" she asked, with more sincerity. She hurried along again to catch up with her. "Come to think of it, you sorta seem that type. Dark and mysterious," she nodded thoughtfully. Another moment of silence. "What sorta things do you draw? ... Nature?" she inquired, sounding hopeful.

animecrafter101- " anything really " she continued in a monotone voice

m4k3- "Judging by your tone, I doubt it's anything colourful," Nokomis commented, swinging her arms idly. The academy was looming over them now, casting a long shadow. "... Is there anything you like to do that actually makes you smile?" Nokomis demonstrated by curving her own lips. "You know, inject a bit of life into you? I know life is something you types like to wring out like a wet towel, but you know."

animecrafter101- " blood " she said as soon as she said it her lips curved into a smile

m4k3- "Right... can't say I relate to that," said Nokomis, "like, literally." She manifested a rose from her palm; red petals unfurling. Then she plucked a thorn and pricked her finger; plant juices seeping out. "See? Biology doesn't lie," she laughed a little, then her brow perked. "Oh, I'm what people call a tree giant, by the way."

animecrafter101- " tree giant? " she said

m4k3- "Yeah," Nokomis sighed. "Not as dark and scary as most people here, unless you gotta phobia of trees. There's a name for that actually..." she drifted off into thought, before returning her attention to Kate's curiosity. "Anyway, er... so I'm basically a tree humanoid. I don't know if you remember or saw me transform a little the other day... when we first ran into each other?" she wondered, cringing a bit at the memory. Can't say it was the best first-meeting. Still, maybe the fact she was a tree giant alluded to her lack of friends.

animecrafter101- " oh " she said, going back to her monotone voice

m4k3- "Aw, not again!" Nokomis exclaimed, mock-whinging in regards to her monotonous replies. She grinned again, an air of playfulness crossing her lips. "Come on, I'll show you. And you can show me," she said, stepping in front of Kate again and putting up her fists. "I know we sorta got off on the wrong foot the other day, but maybe this'll do ya good. You always seem bored. D'like fighting?" Nokomis danced on her tip-toes. "Being a tree, I'm pretty passive most the time... but here's an exception. Come on," she encouraged lightly, though she wasn't sure the vampire would feel inclined not to.

animecrafter101- Kate rolled her eyes and put her fists up in a fighting position

m4k3- Nokomis revealed rows of teeth as she smiled wider, encouraged by Kate's response. Her eyes cast down to Kate's feet, and upon command, strong, slim vines broke free from the earth, grabbing at the vampire's ankles. If successful, the vines would wrap around her feet and in a swift recoil, floor her. The element of surprise.

animecrafter101- In a flash the vines were cut, Kate stood there with a plant like liquid on her claws " ew..."

m4k3- Nokomis smirked, then flicked her hands. Suddenly, an abundance of vines sprung up from the earth around Kate, grabbing at her like snakes from all directions. The things seemed to have minds of their own, as they moved of their own accord, coiling and whipping, going for her arms, her legs... "Put your back into it!" Nokomis chuckled.

animecrafter101- Kate was slightly confused on how this was happing but she tried to break ffree

m4k3- "Okay, enough party tricks," Nokomis said, and with that, the vines loosened their newly found grip on Kate. The tree giant adopted an offensive position, as bark crawled to the surface of her skin and her hair turned slightly green, showing she was ready.

animecrafter101- Kate's eyes glowed a crimson red color, her nail had turned into claws, and there was a wicked snarl on her face,

m4k3- Nokomis pressed her lips together, hoping Kate wouldn't go too far with this and take her eye out with those claws or something. The tree giant towered above Kate, at 6ft 3", weighing 180lbs. Bursting with energy, she sprang forward with a kick, aiming for Kate's torso, whether it hit or not, she'd attempt to follow through with a bark-encased punch.

animecrafter101- Kate easily dodged the kick and grabbed her leg in the proses.

m4k3- As her leg was seized, Nokomis' fist failed to meet the vampire, instead flailing through thin air. As a result of this, she doubled over, but suddenly the fibers of her tights and three-quarter lengths stretched and broke, as the bark thickened on her skin, roughening the feeling of her leg in Kate's grasp and weighing it too. Like ivy, the bark shot up Nokomis' body like camouflage, her hair morphing into vines.

animecrafter101-Kate let go, she looked at her hand and it was all scraped up " not bad" she said

m4k3- Although barely border-lining praise, Nokomis was secretly delighted by Kate's remark. She hadn't been at Creepy long and so far, she was only met with distaste when others witnessed her abilities. As Kate released her leg, Nokomis stumbled backwards a little, straightening her posture.

animecrafter101- Kate swung her leg hitting the middle of Nokomis calf,

m4k3- Nokomis barely felt the impact of Kate's swift kick, but it certainly threw her off balance some more. She lost her footing and fell, a loud thud sounding. The ground rose to protect her under Nokomis' command, forming a barrier in the same way that mountains form; on a much smaller scale of course. The tree giant twisted around, laying flat on her back before kicking up onto her feet. The barrier of earth around her crumbled, exposing her to Kate once more and readying herself.

animecrafter101- Kate watched her reaction, " interesting " she said quietly

m4k3- Nokomis smiled, a little breathless. She was standing firmly but her shoulders sagged when Kate simply watched her. "Thanks," she said. "You're pretty quick, you know!"

animecrafter101- " thanks " she said

m4k3- Nokomis gave her a warm smile, before turning her attention as the bell sounded from within the academy. "Oh, lunch is over. I got a free period now, what about you?"

animecrafter101- " math " she said emotionless

m4k3- Nokomis nodded, before looking down at the articles of torn clothing. "Okay, cool. I'll see you around then?" she said with an air of hope. Good job she had a free, she needed to return to human form and grab some clothes!

animecrafter101- Kate nodded and started walking back to the academy with an expressionless face

m4k3- Encouraged, Nokomis gave one last nod before setting off for the academy too, heading a different way towards the dorms. She bounced on her heels, and when she finally got to her room, her hair returned to its soft, blonde state and the bark fell away, revealing the pink skin beneath. She got dressed, vacuumed her room and then got on with her day in a good mood.

animecrafter101- Kate walked back to the academy and went into math class, late though
